About

Experience ♦ Knowledge ♦ Commitment

I am pleased to have the opportunity to introduce myself as a Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia.

My clinical experience includes over 12 years of experience in behavioral health field, including short and long term treatment (VA), intensive in-home counseling (VA), psychiatric hospital (PR), law enforcement (PR), community-based setting (PR/VA), and over 5 years working with multicultural communities in Hampton Roads.

I earned a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico (Interamerican University of Puerto Rico) and a Master Degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of Phoenix. In 2012, I completed a Master Degree in Business Administration from University of Phoenix.

I am a member of American Counseling Association and Hampton Roads Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Additional of my full time job, I am collaborating as a volunteer in multiple community organizations such as PTSA, Círculo de Latinas de Hampton Roads/Circle of Latinas of Hampton Roads (2015-present), Greater 24, Center for Family Involvement, Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center.

Due to my Hispanic heritage and multicultural involvement, I include crucial factors (e.g. belief system, ethnicity, etc.) into the therapeutic process to deliver an effective treatment.

My treatment approach includes biological interventions that promote brain regulation such as, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).

I utilize a variety of theoretical perspectives (e.g. CBT, Solution-Focused, Person-Centered approach, etc.), and incorporate integrated care, holistic and creative techniques to make therapy a comfortable process in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

I place a priority on integrity, respect, dignity and professional ethical standards.
